Why Edge is the best browser for Windows 10 users?

Windows 10 comes with a whole new browser,i.e. Edge aka project SPARTAN. The good news is, EDGE is fast with a user friendly interface. The bad news is, there is not a lot to offer to Chrome users.
#User_interface
Project Spartan was started from scratch with a user friendly interface. The home screen of EDGE contains news-feed updates and more, just like iGoogle homepage and a welcoming search bar with the title “Where to next?” .
Edge UI contains only basic controls required for general operation i.e., bold icons, wider tabs than the traditional slimmer ones in google chrome. Address bar contains buttons such as HUB giving easy access to favorite bar, reading list, history and downloads, web note button, share and more actions.
Bold icons and wider tabs are easily accessible by touch users resulting in better user experience. Also, the light colored theme seems clean and simple.

#Performance
The best part of EDGE is, it is boosted with performance.
Browser wars will go on and then we will eventually find ourself at a position when these browsers need to be put at rigorous tests.

EDGE dominated load time which proves its speed and performance. But despite the good looks, Microsoft EDGE seems to be a RAM eater. We used task manager to sum up the calculation, and here it goes wrong.

Microsoft EDGE759 MB18%

Even if EDGE looks simple and light weight, it consumes a lot of RAM and puts more pressure on your system as compared to Google Chrome. But digits don’t matter if you have a decent piece of hardware. Being new to the market, Edge performs pretty well and hence, proves itself as the browser which Windows 10 deserves.
#Features
1. Cortana
The browser is integrated with the best personal assistant ever made in the history of mankind, “CORTANA”.
Browsing internet? Stuck with something? Then you don’t need to worry, as Cortana has got your back.  Just a right click, and ask her about anything on the internet.
And yeah, she’s sarcastic too.

2. Chrome extension
It will be the first time that a Microsoft browser will support the mighty extension of Chrome. We don’t need to prove the power of Chrome extension, as Chrome books are sold only because of Chrome OS and the powerful extension it supports. However the feature is not available right now. You’ll get this cool update soon.
3. Web Note
Need to take notes online? No need of opening one note or launching snipping tool for that because EDGE is already providing all those features. You can take a snap, add a note or just highlight text.

4. Share
All the data you surf, all the web notes you’ve got, even the selected text can be shared right away without opening another tab of Gmail or another email client because this feature is also built inside EDGE. You can also access this amazing feature through the share icon near the address bar.

5. Reading View
This mode gives an amazing reading experience although, I am not a fan of books and stuff. Be happy as, you won’t get any privilege to view ads, hyperlinks, etc. as the reading mode offers you an environment similar to reading a text book. Basic and simple, isn’t it? Webpages can also be saved for future reading sessions in the reading list option.
#Bugs
Because the browser is new and was built from scratch, there’s a lot of work yet to be done and facing some minor bugs is not an issue, as they will be patched in the future updates.
Some bugs we discovered in the Microsoft EDGE are:-
  • Frequent hanging sessions.
  • Crashing issues.
  • Problem in switching multiple tabs using shortcut keys.
  • Opening new tabs.
  • Major issues with touch devices, sometimes.
  • Slow response in scrolling web pages.
  • Yet to be discovered…
Thanks to the frequent updates promised by Microsoft, we hope these bugs will be patched soon. EDGE proved itself that it is very powerful but regular Chrome users might not want to switch to EDGE but it’s worth a try.
Tell us which feature of EDGE you use frequently and do share with us if you are facing bugs apart from those mentioned above.

Google Announces Android Wear Update With WiFi Support, Always-On Apps, And More

It has been a while since Android Wear got any substantial updates, but today Google is announcing a big one. A new version of Wear will be rolling out over the coming weeks that includes a number of previously rumored features (like WiFi support) and some all new stuff (like always-on apps). Most Wear devices use the always-on ambient mode for the watch face by default, the Moto 360 being a notable exception. The new Android Wear version allows apps to operate in ambient mode too, so they remain active when the watch goes to sleep. That makes it easier to take a quick glance at the app instead of waking the device up and opening the app all over again. The watch will still only go into full-color mode when necessary. WiFi support is also coming in the update, which means your watch can be useful even if your phone isn't connected. Watches with WiFi support will be able to connect to WiFi and still get messages and notifications from your phone, provided it has an interne...

The Eight Most Impactful Excel Shortcuts That You Should Master

If you’ve ever gone online to research improving your Excel skills, you’ve undoubtedly come across a post or two listing all of Excel’s keyboard shortcuts.  In the latest version of Excel, Microsoft has made it easier than ever to learn shortcuts, by assigning shortcuts to nearly every function and making the discovery of the input sequence very transparent. While memorizing Excel shortcuts will generally improve your productivity, not all shortcuts are created equal.  Shortcuts that you never use are not inherently not very useful and not worth memorizing.  Your focus should be on the shortcuts that have the most impact – either by the amount of time it saves you, the frequency that you’ll use them, or the behavior it encourages. If you’ve already started using Excel or just haven’t utilized shortcuts heavily before, review the top eight shortcuts below.  For any that you don’t know already, I would suggest memorizing them and incorp...

How Education Will Be Smarter, Less Intrusive, And Able To Respond To How You Feel

Impatience characterizes the technology sector’s approach to education. Disruption is taking place in all other sectors of society — so, why not education? I know too well, whether at Pearson or in the classroom, the challenges and frustration of developing and using digital tools that improve outcomes for students. But I’m optimistic. We are on the verge of a tide of smarter innovation that, if allowed to spread, will turbocharge the learning experience for students. Here are four areas worth watching: 1. Using technology to learn from learners Every great digital product constantly evolves by learning from its users, adding capabilities, and improving its performance. If it’s true for your Facebook feed, then why not education? The potential is there, as the OECD’s recent report on  Students, Computers and Learning  (OECD) incidentally showed how clickstream and tracking navigation in digital readers can be used to see how students process online text and...

Airbnb will open its Cuba listings to users outside the United States

Airbnb  will now let travelers from outside the U.S. to book properties in Cuba after receiving authorization from the U.S. government,  reports the Associated Press . Previously, only Americans were allowed to reserve the site’s  Cuban listings . They will open to international users on April 2. Airbnb launched its  Cuban operations in April 2014 , four months after the Obama administration revealed that it will begin to  restore diplomatic relations with the Communist country . The historic policy change means that  travel and trade sanctions will be lifted , which is expected to boost tourism to Cuba dramatically because Americans no longer need licenses to visit. In fact, President Obama is  currently on an official visit to Cuba , the first president since Calvin Coolidge to do so. According to the AP, Cuba is currently Airbnb’s fastest-growing market, with about 4,000 homes added since it opened listings. Other travel businesses...
