Why Edge is the best browser for Windows 10 users?

Windows 10 comes with a whole new browser,i.e. Edge aka project SPARTAN. The good news is, EDGE is fast with a user friendly interface. The bad news is, there is not a lot to offer to Chrome users.
#User_interface
Project Spartan was started from scratch with a user friendly interface. The home screen of EDGE contains news-feed updates and more, just like iGoogle homepage and a welcoming search bar with the title “Where to next?” .
Edge UI contains only basic controls required for general operation i.e., bold icons, wider tabs than the traditional slimmer ones in google chrome. Address bar contains buttons such as HUB giving easy access to favorite bar, reading list, history and downloads, web note button, share and more actions.
Bold icons and wider tabs are easily accessible by touch users resulting in better user experience. Also, the light colored theme seems clean and simple.

#Performance
The best part of EDGE is, it is boosted with performance.
Browser wars will go on and then we will eventually find ourself at a position when these browsers need to be put at rigorous tests.

EDGE dominated load time which proves its speed and performance. But despite the good looks, Microsoft EDGE seems to be a RAM eater. We used task manager to sum up the calculation, and here it goes wrong.

Microsoft EDGE759 MB18%

Even if EDGE looks simple and light weight, it consumes a lot of RAM and puts more pressure on your system as compared to Google Chrome. But digits don’t matter if you have a decent piece of hardware. Being new to the market, Edge performs pretty well and hence, proves itself as the browser which Windows 10 deserves.
#Features
1. Cortana
The browser is integrated with the best personal assistant ever made in the history of mankind, “CORTANA”.
Browsing internet? Stuck with something? Then you don’t need to worry, as Cortana has got your back.  Just a right click, and ask her about anything on the internet.
And yeah, she’s sarcastic too.

2. Chrome extension
It will be the first time that a Microsoft browser will support the mighty extension of Chrome. We don’t need to prove the power of Chrome extension, as Chrome books are sold only because of Chrome OS and the powerful extension it supports. However the feature is not available right now. You’ll get this cool update soon.
3. Web Note
Need to take notes online? No need of opening one note or launching snipping tool for that because EDGE is already providing all those features. You can take a snap, add a note or just highlight text.

4. Share
All the data you surf, all the web notes you’ve got, even the selected text can be shared right away without opening another tab of Gmail or another email client because this feature is also built inside EDGE. You can also access this amazing feature through the share icon near the address bar.

5. Reading View
This mode gives an amazing reading experience although, I am not a fan of books and stuff. Be happy as, you won’t get any privilege to view ads, hyperlinks, etc. as the reading mode offers you an environment similar to reading a text book. Basic and simple, isn’t it? Webpages can also be saved for future reading sessions in the reading list option.
#Bugs
Because the browser is new and was built from scratch, there’s a lot of work yet to be done and facing some minor bugs is not an issue, as they will be patched in the future updates.
Some bugs we discovered in the Microsoft EDGE are:-
  • Frequent hanging sessions.
  • Crashing issues.
  • Problem in switching multiple tabs using shortcut keys.
  • Opening new tabs.
  • Major issues with touch devices, sometimes.
  • Slow response in scrolling web pages.
  • Yet to be discovered…
Thanks to the frequent updates promised by Microsoft, we hope these bugs will be patched soon. EDGE proved itself that it is very powerful but regular Chrome users might not want to switch to EDGE but it’s worth a try.
Tell us which feature of EDGE you use frequently and do share with us if you are facing bugs apart from those mentioned above.

How ad-free subscriptions could solve Facebook

At the core of Facebook’s “well-being” problem is that its business is directly coupled with total time spent on its apps. The more hours you pass on the social network, the more ads you see and click, the more money it earns. That puts its plan to make using Facebook healthier at odds with its finances, restricting how far it’s willing to go to protect us from the harms of over use. The advertising-supported model comes with some big benefits, though. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has repeatedly said that “We will always keep Facebook a free service for everyone.” Ads lets Facebook remain free for those who don’t want to pay, and more importantly, for those around the world who couldn’t afford to. Ads pay for Facebook to keep the lights on, research and develop new technologies, and profit handsomely in a way that attracts top talent and further investment. More affluent users with more buying power in markets like the US, UK, and Canada command higher ad prices, effectively...

Windows 7 and 8.1 Update to Windows 10 automatically

Windows 10 downloader While it might be a bit too early to start getting excited over the  Windows 10 update , which isn't expected to arrive until summer, Microsoft seems to already be warming up people's computers just the same. A recommended, and therefore purely optional, update for Windows 7 Service Pack 1 and Windows 8.1 has been discovered to be laying the groundwork for those machines' eventual upgrade to Windows 10. Although the  Windows 10 release date  was not announced officially, the details of this update also reveal how Microsoft might try to convince users to update to the latest Windows 10 version.  The  KB3035583  update "enables additional capabilities for Windows Update notifications when new updates are available to the user", which sounds pretty common. That is, until you dig into the update files and see a certain  GWXUXWorker.exe which, upon further inspection, would actually "Download Windows 10". So this rather ...

Anyline Raises €1.5M To Let You Add Optical Character Recognition To Your App

Anyline , the Austrian startup that provides mobile OCR tech to enable developers to add text recognition to their own apps, has raised €1.5 million in funding. The list of investors is interesting, too. It includes angel investor Johann ‘Hansi’ Hansmann, busuu co-founder Bernhard Niesner, Lukas Püspök, and the U.S.-based VC-fund iSeed Ventures. However, most notable is that the round was led by Gernot Langes-Swarovski Group. As one investor put it to me, “the fact that the Swarovski family led the round shows that finally ‘old’ money is moving into Austrian startups”. Offering its own mobile Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology — which uses a smartphone’s camera to accurately scan and recognise any kind of text, code or number — Anyline co-founder and CEO Lukas Kinigadner tells me the startup is built on the premise that “people screw up a lot”. “Mistakes happen easily when you’re writing down a 10-digit-number and then have to type it in again a few moments later...

Three Reasons Why You Need Better Personal Cyber security

From the infamous Sony hack to the recent WannaCry virtual catastrophe that affected over 300,000 computers, the need for reliable personal cyber security has never been more apparent. Rubica's skilled team of experts want to remind every one of the importance of cyber security and the three reasons why it is becoming a more pressing issue every day. With top-notch personal cyber security, most attacks are preventable. 1. Larger Number Of Attacks Americans have heard of the most notable attacks on major corporations or government entities over the past several years. However, most people who are not in the information security field do not learn just how much the attack frequency is growing. The number of cyber attacks carried out worldwide in 2015 was quadruple a number of attacks recorded in 2013. Although the cost associated with the number of annual recorded attacks is in the $500 billion range right now, experts say that it will grow well into the trillions by ...
